Working out with Jillian this week!

I'm back on the Ripped in 30 bandwagon! Last week was workout #1...this week I've done workout #2 twice and will do it again tomorrow morning as well as Saturday morning.

I've been heading to the basketball court early Saturday morning the last couple of weeks to run suicide drills. Not sure what that is?? Check it out here how to perform suicide drills!

Me last Saturday after drills (the sun is kicking my ass)

I love these drills! Still waiting for Ro to come join me on the court!

Something funny is starting to happen. My body is telling me that I'm probably fairly close to my happily ever after as far as my weight is concerned. Yes I still want to build more muscle, but I'm not tripping over the scale anymore! This is a true revelation for me! I'm getting to happy..finally!!

I plan to advance to workout #3 of Ripped in 30 next week. Am I ready..nope...but I'm going to do it regardless so I can write a review!

Y'all keep kicking it with me flaws and all and I truly appreciate it!

Ripped in 30 review week 2

Let me start off by saying that week 2 was a complete FAIL! I cannot do an accurate review because I only completed 1 workout! Did you here me??? Only 1 week 2 workout! That was done on Thursday.

In my defense like I really need a defense I was nursing my hurt shoulder. And guess what?? My shoulder feels better! Hells yeah!!!

On Saturday I did Turbo Fire 55 EZ. So last week I only logged 2 workouts. I also had a couple of days where my eating was down right redamdiculous! Let's just say it involved a slice of turtle cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory!

This isn't my photo BUT it looked just like this minus the whipped cream! Ah-ma-ZING!!

Okay sorry, I get excited when cheesecake is involved!! Back to the topic at hand!

Since I'm not doing a full review on the week 2 workout, I'm not posting a body pic..sigh *_*! I will say this, my body hurt all over again after last Thursday's attempt! Shit was difficult! Damn and I thought I was in pretty good shape!

I am now convinced that I'm still not exactly where I want to be. I need WERQ...still! Even with the enormous weight loss, and how great I feel, I need and want more! I'ma this isn't a word but I don't care still get me (my honey says that all of the time)!

So this week will be the REDO! I'm on it y'all!

Hurting!!

My body hurts! Hurts to sit down, hurts to stand, hurts to walk!

I guess it's safe to say that I am challenging myself again!! I haven't felt soreness like this in a very long time.

I'm all smiles :-)!! Tomorrow is my rest day and that's exactly what I'm going to do!

SO much love..I can hardly stand it!

Yesterday, my before and after pictures were featured on the Black Women "DO" Workout fan page on Facebook! This is a fabulous, supportive group of women pushing each other to reach fitness and healthy lifestyle goals.

The creator of the page..trainer Crystal Adell told me I'd receive a lot of responses but I had no idea!! My phone was buzzing all day long with friend requests and message notifications! I am feeling ALL of the love and sisterhood is definitely alive and kicking!

The photo on the page- how I look now & November 2009

The top two questions were, "how did you do it?" The second was "how long did it take?" I tried my best to answer as many folks as I could, but asked each one of them to visit my blog to read about my journey.

I plan to do a vlog this weekend addressing both of those questions (again) in more depth. I have to organize my thoughts on paper first lol!

Anyhoo, here's a couple items off of my menu this week.

Tuesday's dinner...

Honey mustard chicken breast, sautéed then simmered yams and garlic asparagus

Wednesday's dinner...

Cucumber salad w/ light feta, bacon bits, scallions, balsamic vinegar & red pepper flakes

I also had sweet potato fries along with the cucumber salad. I woke up this morning feeling amazing!!!

My life is an open book! Lovin' this!!!!

Maintaining a 110 lb (and counting) weight loss is harder than starting the journey!

When I jumped head first into my journey, I wasn't thinking too much about the after. When I say after I'm talking about after reaching my goal. When I started this, I ate, slept and breathed reaching my goal. Well I reached my goal in January, now what?

Now I'm maintaining AND working towards losing another 15 pounds. I heard it from many, keeping off the weight is harder than losing it...so very true! After a substantial loss, I don't ever want to go back. My body isn't perfect but it's a long way from where it used to be.

Looking in the mirror is a constant reminder of how much I've accomplished. From this...

To this...

My new bikini!

A huge change but I want more change! I have to keep telling myself that my old self no longer exists. The "big girl" that used to live here has moved, she's gone! Maintaining is now a part of my daily life.

I encourage those striving to reach that goal to seriously think about after. If you're working at changing your lifestyle, taking on healthy habits, after will eventually become your reality. What will you do once you reach after? Think about it!

Thirty days of ME...Day 9

Day Nine- Something you're proud of in the past few days

I am proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and doing the boudoir photo shoot last Saturday. It's something I always dreamed about doing, I just didn't feel comfortable in my old body. I can cross this off my "things to do before I die" list! Accomplished!

Turbo Fire 12 week results!

I did it! I completed my first round of Turbo Fire! The program is 12 weeks long. I should have finished two weeks ago but had to redo weeks 7 & 8 due to illness and injury respectively. I loved every single second of it! Hands down this is my absolute favorite workout! I can't get enough of the fast up and down pace! Once I learned all of the choreography the workouts got better and better for me.
I created a photo collage of my progress. Row one is day 1, row 2 is day 60 and row 3 is day 90.
Stats:
Weight- 197.0 to 179.8 = 17.2 (loss)
Bust- 38" t0 36" = -2"
Chest- 34" to 32.5" = -1.5"
Waist- 32" to 30.5" = -1.5"
Arms- (R) 13.25" to 12.5" = -0.75" (L) 13.25" to 12" = -1.25"
Hips- 45" to 41.5" = -3.5"
Thighs- (R) 25.5" to 23.75" = -1.75" (L) 26" to 23.75" = -2.25"
Calves- (R) 16" to 15" = -1" (L) 16.5" to 15" = -1.5"
Total overall inches lost = 17!!!
Ironically my total inches and weight lost is almost exactly the same! I had a goal when I started the program to lose 25 pounds, I missed my target by 7.8 pounds which isn't too bad. I will definitely complete another round as a hybrid with P90X. I like the strength training in P90X and the cardio in Turbo Fire. As a combined routine, this should give me the results that I am looking for.
I am recommending Turbo Fire to anyone that is looking to take their workouts to the next level at home! You WILL NOT be disappointed!
