Week 2: Project 35 by 35

I completed my second week! As far as exercise goes I was on point. Here are my totals for the week:

I am happy to report that I am down 2.8 pounds since March 4th! I plan to average a loss of 1.3-1.5 a week so I'm right on track.

I worked out 6 days this week! First time in a very long time that I've done 6 days! I'm not even going to lie, it felt damn good! My body responds well to workouts. For whatever reason my body has a strong hold on this excess weight but I'll be damned!

I'm back on the pill and I think that has something to do with it? But regardless I'm still going to reach my goal kicking and screaming!!

Weigh Day 10/1/12

190.6

I set a loss goal of 2.6 for last week, I didn't hit it, I actually gained .4 ounces. I only worked out one day last week because "New New" aka my new boo insisted that I rest since I kept coughing up all sorts of nastiness! Although I wanted to resist his request, I knew he was right.

I knew for sure I wouldn't hit the 2.6 loss without workouts once my cycle started...ugh! I feel bloated of course! All I can aim to do is conquer this week successfully since I have a goal to reach!

I okay last week, I did end up having three cheat meals instead of one. I also ate three treats instead of one on different days of course thanks to PMS cravings. That ish is real!! The cravings, the cramping...it truly sucks ass.

This week meal planning/prep was pretty easy, I had a lot of leftovers in the freezer from the past two weeks for dinners this week.

On the menu this week:
*Lean turkey meat loaf
*Whole wheat spaghetti w/ meat sauce
*Slow cooked turkey chili
*Baked potatoes with broccoli & grated cheeses
*White bean & chicken soup
*Skinny Enchiladas

Last nights dinner...Santa Fe stuffed peppers

I haven't planned my workouts for the week yet, and I still have to take progress pics for the start of the month. Will post those tomorrow!!

Return of the weekly update!!

Where I'm at..

Basic Stats:

Bust: 36
Waist: 33
Hips: 45
Thighs: 26 (each)

It's been a minute since I faithfully posted weekly about my journey. I'm proud to say that I'm B-A-C-K!!! Like for real back! Last week was awesome! I set a weight loss goal for the week, a food goal and workout goal!

My weight loss goal for last week was 6 pounds, I lost 4.4 pounds. I'm okay with that :)) This week my goal is a 2.6 loss.

I'm proud to say that I stuck to my menu the food I prepared last Sunday for lunches, dinners and snacks Mon-Friday! I also consumed no less than 64 oz of water per day! I tracked what I ate, this was fairly easy since my meals were prepped.

I completed five of my six workouts. Main reason why I didn't do them all?? I got sick (insert sad face here)! I started to not feel so great late Wednesday night and by Friday I was a total mess. Started to feel better Saturday but rested on Sunday instead of completing my missed day. I'm still congested this morning...I'll workout this evening once I make it home.

One cheat meal which was Thursday, a Thai dinner with a certain someone that brought me these...

Accompanied by a Twix bar which was my one treat allowed for the week! I ate it on Friday as I was too full to eat it after dinner...piggy!

I am allowing myself one cheat meal per week...not day AND one treat per week my choice.

I find this helps me to stay on track. I'm going to be brutally honest about the 30 pounds I've gained since this time last year. It's not pretty but it's honest and it's real, something I've always been. I'm addressing it and I've already lost 5 of it!

I'm working to get back to my goal weight of 165 by my 2 year maintaining date which is January 15, 2013. I'll take progress pics on October 1, then continually the 1st of each month. My weekly weigh day is Monday, I'll report in each week.

This is a long post but here is some of my food prepped for this week!

Roasted squash & zucchini, clean turkey muffins, honey mustard tilapia & salmon, brown rice casserole

Roasted tomato & pepper soup

Roasted veggies for the soup above

Last weekend dinners...

Grilled chicken, mushroom & spinach wrap

Stir fry chicken

Yesterday's breakfast plate..

Have an awesome week!!

August progress post!

I wanted to post this yesterday but was up early (4:30 am) completing a shadow box that needed to be mailed yesterday! Thank goodness I met my deadline but I was SLEEPY when I made it home!

Here's my scale pic from this morning pre workout:

Then I got ready to take my measurements and guess what? I can't find my damn measuring tape? I asked peat and repeat aka Julianni and Mimi and of course they haven't seen it hmmmmm okay O_o! So what I'll do this evening is take a couple body pics, and jot down my stats then post that tomorrow!

By my calculations I am up a whopping 21.8 pounds since this time last year. It was more...I've been chipping away at it.

I'm no longer stressed, irritated, frustrated or sad. Actually I'm finally getting back to my happy place! Let me tell you it feels really great! I've got my journal in my bag, still working on my new goals and rewards list. This time I think I'll be putting away $5 per pound to go towards shopping when I get back to #165.

23 weeks left in this year to lose 21.8 pounds, totally doable for me!

Oh yeah and in even happier news, my mom, gram, sister's, brother, nephews & nieces will ALL be here next week for our family reunion!!! This is just the pick me up I need! I miss them all SO MUCH :)

Healthy Lifestyle Meet Up- Help Through The Holiday's!

I'm a lil tardy for the party, as the other ladies have already posted about our first meet up last weekend! Please cut me some slack..thanks!

The ladies and I!

The weather was absolutely perfect for the walk! It was nice meeting the ladies that I hadn't already met. After the walk at Hermann Park we ate lunch at Hungry's Cafe.

I had had this! Tex-Mex omelette, black beans and new potatoes...Delish!

I'd never been to Hungry's before, the food was pretty good! I didn't walk out feeling overly stuffed which is a great thing being that we were meeting to work on our healthy lifestyle!

So our next event is in the works...SKATING!!! Woot Woot! I haven't been on skates in years BUT I'm up for the challenge! For those of you that didn't come to the walk, come kick it with us at the rink! Tentative date is Saturday, December 3rd. Details soon to follow!

Thanks to all the ladies that participated Ro @ Ro Gets Fit, Trina @ Me So Hongry, Makiea @ Interior Intensive, Shawn @ Changing Weighs, Dee @ Just Dee AND my girl Mo, who doesn't blog but is committed to a healthy lifestyle as well!

Our girls Reiko @ Gods Favorite Shoes, Juanette @ Fashion Nette-Work ALMOST had lunch with us...but did share a few laughs before we parted ways!

Please have NO reservation about coming to hang with us if you couldn't make it! We all have a common goal to support each other and crack jokes in between!

Weigh day..and a lil something fun!

It's that time again, weigh day! One way I hold myself accountable is to be completely honest with my journey.

Scale pic 11/1/11

I believe that's up a little over five pounds since the beginning of last month? It could be worse...trust me! Losing 100+ pounds wasn't as difficult for me as maintaining my loss. I haven't been tracking my eating but I have been working out. I know that planning and tracking is even more important than working out. Today I am committing to tracking everything I eat for the next 30 days. Good, bad or ugly I'm writing it down!

This just came to me but I now understand that reaching my goal weight was like chasing a high (I've never done drugs but I can imagine)! I have to be straight up honest with you when I say, that high of chasing my goal weight is gone because once I reached it, the high was gone!

I've flip-flopped a few times about what my next goal will be, I still don't really know? I like the way my body looks between 160-165. I like the sexiness of lean muscle too! When I really know...y'all will be the first to know!

I could talk about my workouts and food but I'd much rather share my girls' Halloween pictures now! They are growing up SO fast! I think they were calling themselves Diva Fairy Princesses lol!

If you haven't already got in touch with me regarding the meet up on 11/12...please do so!!
Houston Healthy Lifestyle Meet Up! RSVP by 11/5/11 if you haven't already done so!

Sitting and thinking...

I had every intention to post about my outfit that I planned to wear to church yesterday..I was READY! Okay so when I woke up yesterday it was cold outside! That totally killed my planned outfit! Anyhoo, my baby Mimi took this picture of me yesterday and I LOVE it, so I'm bragging lol! For a six year old she's pretty talented! I'll try again next week for the outfit post!

November is knock, knock, knocking on the door and I've been thinking about the goals I set for 2011. In my humble opinion, I think I've done a fairly good job of accomplishing the majority of the list. Take a look here at my 2011 Goals. I just read over them again and I've done a damn good job! *pats myself on the back*

There are a few things that will carry over into 2012 as I expected along with new things! I am already thinking about my goals for 2012..what can I say, I am a planner!

There is one thing that I most want to focus on and that is evolving my blog into addressing my entire lifestyle. Although my weight loss and healthy living is a huge part of my life, it's not my entire life.

I've tried to merge all aspects of my life into my blog before with little success, so I'd like to spend the next two months figuring it out. I'd like the transition to be smooth and seamless..wish me luck!

I'm aiming for 2012 to be full of adventures and accomplishments..we speak things into existence!

Weigh Day! Stats!

I can honestly say this month was better than last but I took an entire week of rest. My girls were in Atlanta for two weeks and the first week that they were gone I rested! Mental and physical rest!

I did not complete all of my goals but I did do better. I've had a lot going on and just trying to maintain my sanity is proving to be a test!

Weight 8/1/11, 165

Stats look like this...

Bust: 34
Waist: 29
Hips: 40.5
Thighs: (R) 22.5 (L) 22.5

Total weight lost in July: -0.4

Total inches lost: 1 inch from my thighs

August progress pic...please excuse my appearance!

I go back and forth with the issue of just maintaining where I'm at, and living happily ever after between 160-165. I'm happy with the size of my body. I'm happy with my clothes size. I'm happy with the muscle I feel.

My honey is a big guy, 6'3 and I'm going to estimate about 280 pounds. When we met I weighed 275 at 5'5. We weighed damn near the same amount! Now when I'm hugging him he makes me feel small! If I lose anymore weight I think he just might crush me! That there is for another post though :-)!

So what am I going to do?? I'm going to keep loving myself and my success at weight loss! I still want more muscle tone so that's not going to change. As far as weight loss goes I'm pretty much done! I can't even believe I'm saying this!!

Ironically, this August marks anniversary of where I was two years ago! Two years ago in August I was 275, miserable and unhappy in my skin. Last August I was still fighting to reach my goal. This year I am happily living at my goal!

Mi- Inspire Healthy Lifestyle Transformation Guides

I've finally completed another project I've been working on! Encouraged by the countless emails, comments and questions I've received since reaching my goal weight, I've written the first Mi-Inspire guide!

Everyday I receive an email asking what I did to lose weight? What do I eat, what my workouts are, how do I stay motivated..etc? Now 99% of these questions are answered throughout my blog BUT I understand some folks need a direct tangible reference.

As you can imagine I've answered the same questions many times! Unfortunately I don't have time to answer questions in depth from each person that asks me, I do have a job, kids and a man lol! I figured it would be smart to put everything in one place.

The first guide is all about what I did to start my healthy lifestyle transformation and how I stay consistent. In the second guide I will address food and of course the third will be about my workouts.

I'm sure there will be more eventually but for right now that's all I've got! The first guide is available for purchase here on my blog...YAY! If you've got $5 to spare please check it out! If you want to start changing your habits and don't know where to begin then this guide is for you! If you lack motivation it's for you as well! Or maybe you haven't read each of my previous posts and want to know how I'm keeping off the 110 pounds that I've lost? It's in this guide!

Feedback is greatly appreciated from everyone that does purchase the guide! It will help me build, grow and learn! Thank you all so very much for supporting me constantly!!

Road to #140..stacked, sexy, lean muscle!

I've been quiet this week, reading blog posts with limited comments. I'm still getting my *e-hugs* and love from y'all which is helping me tremendously!

Have you ever wanted something SO bad but just didn't know how to get it? That's where I'm at with my relationship. This question can also directly relate to weight loss. Truth be told the frustration of my relationship is fucking me up right now.

I'm all thrown off. Eating like crap, skipping workouts, drinking...you name it...I've been doing it! This is hard, emotionally I am drained. I'm not a quitter, I can't let what's going on keep me from moving forward towards my goals.

I need to focus on something I have complete control over, which brings me to the topic of this post. I've decided to set a brand new goal for myself that I intend to take seriously.

The NEW goal is to shape a figure competitor's body..minus the competing (for now). For this to become a reality many things I am doing as of now must change.

I've written a detailed list of goals and rewards which I will share a little later. For now I'm mentally preparing myself for this next phase of my lifestyle transformation. I've gotten comfy, change cannot happen unless I push myself to my limit and beyond!

I want a body of envy, I don't give a shit about anyone else's opinion! Follow me on my road to #140..stacked, sexy, lean muscle!

Weigh day! Stats! Mommy's birthday!

I have to start this post by first giving my mom a happy birthday shout out! Without her, there is no me. She is a huge part of why I am the woman that I am today! Love and miss you mom!

My mom :-)

Okay back to my weigh day and stats! I had to bury my old scale (may she RIP) a few days ago *sigh*...we had a good run together! So on Monday the girl's and I made a run to Target to pick up a new scale! I must admit I am smitten with her lol!!

Weight 6/1/11, 162.2

Stats look like this...

Bust: 33.5
Waist: 28.5
Hips: 39.5
Thighs: (R) 22.75, (L) 23

Total weight lost in May: 0.8 lbs

Total inches lost: 1.25 in

June body shot

I am finally starting to notice the progress in my abs!! Finally!!! I believe having two c-sections is playing a role in the slow journey back to flat abs...smdh!

I set a goal last month to complete four weeks of Jillian Michaels' Ripped in 30, this did not happen! I have yet to even complete weeks 3 & 4 workouts! Throughout my journey I've learned a few things about my body.

My body responds well to constant confusion. Meaning, the intensity and style of my workouts have to vary from week to week for me to see and feel a difference.

I've already noticed change with my current schedule 3 days on, 1 day rest cardio/strength split. Basically I'm doing three days of cardio, and three days of strength training on alternate days. I'm not planning my workouts more than one week out at a time.

Goals for this month:

* Continue my split routine with various workouts
* Start lifting heavier weights
* Bid farewell to the 160's
* Menu planning 1 week out...seriously I've been sloughing on this and I have NO excuses

Thank you all for continuing to follow and support my journey!

Maintaining a 110 lb (and counting) weight loss is harder than starting the journey!

When I jumped head first into my journey, I wasn't thinking too much about the after. When I say after I'm talking about after reaching my goal. When I started this, I ate, slept and breathed reaching my goal. Well I reached my goal in January, now what?

Now I'm maintaining AND working towards losing another 15 pounds. I heard it from many, keeping off the weight is harder than losing it...so very true! After a substantial loss, I don't ever want to go back. My body isn't perfect but it's a long way from where it used to be.

Looking in the mirror is a constant reminder of how much I've accomplished. From this...

To this...

My new bikini!

A huge change but I want more change! I have to keep telling myself that my old self no longer exists. The "big girl" that used to live here has moved, she's gone! Maintaining is now a part of my daily life.

I encourage those striving to reach that goal to seriously think about after. If you're working at changing your lifestyle, taking on healthy habits, after will eventually become your reality. What will you do once you reach after? Think about it!

OMG!!! Does the scale say 165.4???

I can officially say "bye bye to the 170's!! I'm happy!! This morning my weight is 165.4!!! My original weight loss target was 165! This means I am sporting a 109.6 pound loss!! I am jumping for joy!

Again my feet need to be done (doing that tonight) so you're not going to catch my toes showing on the scale...smdh! I feel proud, excited and even more motivated to drop more.

I have worked, worked and worked some more for this. I've been at it for 17 months now. I indeed hit my target, my goal was to reach 165 by January 2011, I have done that! Share my joy!!

Thirty Days of ME...Day 18

Day Eighteen- Plans/dreams/goals you have
Having goals, a plan to make them a reality and dreaming makes up a huge part of who I am. As I wrote in a previous post, my issue at times is completion of my goal. For the last year and a half (almost) my goal has been weight loss related. I've been eating, sleeping and breathing weight loss!

A few of my short term goals (within two years) are;

Relocating to Houston
Finding a nice job with great benefits once I get there
Obtaining my ACE personal training certification
Obtaining my Spinning & Turbo Kick certifications respectively
Marriage to the love of my life and possibly one more baby :-)
Purchasing a home

A dream of mine is to become an entrepreneur doing something that I am passionate about. At this time I don't know if it will be health & fitness related or somehow related to my art? This is something that I've always wanted to do and I will make it happen!

Thirty days of ME...Day 8!

Day Eight- Short term goals for this month and why

My main short term goal as it pertains to my weight loss is ringing in the New Year at my goal weight of 167! I'm SO close I can taste it!

The next goal is a seamless move out of my apartment at the end of the month.

The last goal for this month is to bring a smile to the faces of those that I love, especially my girls, and spread my holiday cheer!

Changing my weight loss goal #

After much thought and consideration, I have decided to change my goal weight from 165 to 167! Right now I am happy where I am and could live here comfortably. I love the way my body looks, as far as I'm concerned I only need to make minor adjustments. If I could bottle up and sell the way I feel I'd be a very wealthy woman!

Updated progress pictures 11/2010

A year ago my body looked like this! Even for me it's hard to believe but I'm glad I took the pictures. Everyone has a starting point. I didn't know my own strength, I didn't know I had the ability to transform both mentally and physically. I am not finished but I am that much closer!

The weekly check in 11/15/10

It’s time once again for my weekly weigh in!! As of yesterday I am down 2.4 pounds from last Monday putting me at 173.8! My workouts have been crazy tough but well worth it, the payoff is soooooo sweeeet! As far as food goes, I did fairly well and stayed within my points most days. I normally have 3-7 activity points available everyday except Wednesday (rest day) so that makes things easier. I know for a fact my flex points were taken up by the pesky Halloween candy that is still lingering around my house! I took the liberty of locking up the remainder of it in the trunk of my car! I have to do what I have to do, my kids don’t need all of that candy but I do give them (and myself) treats!

I am attempting to add more pictures of myself and my day-to-day comings and goings on my posts. At some point I’ll create a video about my journey. I enjoy viewing and reading about others on the same path to wellness. This blog is about continuing to step outside of my comfort zone. I am creating an entirely new comfort zone for myself and it feels good!

100 pounds down!!! I did it!!!

I made a guarantee that I would reach my 100 pounds down mark by Monday, November 1st but that didn't happen. But you know what? I worked my ass of this week and I hit it today!!! I am ecstatic and very proud of what I've accomplished! This hasn't been easy for me and I'll never make light of the hard work it took and will continue to take. This journey is something that I live, think, breathe etc...every single day. I don't take long breaks, I'm always mindful of my actions. If I don't get my exercise in, I always think about the missed opportunity to change the number on the scale.

Eating right and working out has become my lifestyle. I'm not doing anything that will ultimately jeopardize me reaching my goal. In order for me to stay on track I cannot go back to my old ways. I have to keep writing about it, talking to others and continue to find ways to push myself. 2011 just might be even better than 2010!

On this day last year, November 5, 2009, I got serious about my workouts. Ironically, exactly 1 year later I'm 100 pounds lighter!
