Weigh day..FRESH new look!

October??? Is that you??? Well I'll be damned! It's that time of the month, weigh day!

*I did actually weigh myself on the first*

10/1/11..weight 166.2

Again I wish could say I had a great September but that would be a lie and I'm a terrible liar! In my last post I mentioned my lack of motivation was due to needing a change in my workout routine.

I went to the YMCA twice last week for spinning. Without a doubt it's the change that I needed! This week I plan to spin two times, try a new cardio class and lift weights two times.

I've got a fresh new look! I cut my hair...finally!! I'm not going to bore you with progress pics this month, there hasn't been much change in my body since last month. I'm thinking about only posting progress pics quarterly now? Just a thought?

I can barely contain the excitement I have for an upcoming event next month!!! Details soon to follow :-)!

Plans for October are to schedule my weekly workouts and menus. Nothing more..nothing less!

Let's all work towards a healthy upcoming holiday season!

Weigh day..My birthday..Makes me wanna holla!!!

I realize I haven't posted since August 22nd...FAIL! Shoot me, it's summer and it's hot as fish grease in Houston! Those are my reasons and I'm rolling with it!

It's that time again...1st of the month, time to weigh in! I have to keep it 100 when I tell you that August was a bust...womp..womp..womp! I enjoyed myself and that's all that matters up until weigh day lol!

Against my better judgement I stepped on the scale a week and a half ago and I was up to a whopping 174.4!!!! Are you effing kidding me??!!! That's all I could think! There was NO way I was going out like that!!!

9/1/11...Weight 166.8

I was able to pull it together and tighten up ship!

September progress pics

That's enough about weight, I had a birthday yesterday!!! 33 years of life, such a blessing!! I had a great day outside of my girls' room upsetting me in the morning and felt so much love from my family & friends!!

Yes I enjoyed TWO slices of my cake!

Anyhoo let's talk about what makes me wanna HOLLA!!! My girls' bedroom! Yesterday morning I had to take pics of the foolery that they call their bedroom! I was ready to throw every single item in the garbage! They live in a world of excess and it's clearly displayed all over their floor!

THAT IS ALL!!

The solution??? All but 3 items a piece is getting bagged up until they can figure out how to manage their stuff!

September WILL be a great month!!

Weigh Day! Stats!

I can honestly say this month was better than last but I took an entire week of rest. My girls were in Atlanta for two weeks and the first week that they were gone I rested! Mental and physical rest!

I did not complete all of my goals but I did do better. I've had a lot going on and just trying to maintain my sanity is proving to be a test!

Weight 8/1/11, 165

Stats look like this...

Bust: 34
Waist: 29
Hips: 40.5
Thighs: (R) 22.5 (L) 22.5

Total weight lost in July: -0.4

Total inches lost: 1 inch from my thighs

August progress pic...please excuse my appearance!

I go back and forth with the issue of just maintaining where I'm at, and living happily ever after between 160-165. I'm happy with the size of my body. I'm happy with my clothes size. I'm happy with the muscle I feel.

My honey is a big guy, 6'3 and I'm going to estimate about 280 pounds. When we met I weighed 275 at 5'5. We weighed damn near the same amount! Now when I'm hugging him he makes me feel small! If I lose anymore weight I think he just might crush me! That there is for another post though :-)!

So what am I going to do?? I'm going to keep loving myself and my success at weight loss! I still want more muscle tone so that's not going to change. As far as weight loss goes I'm pretty much done! I can't even believe I'm saying this!!

Ironically, this August marks anniversary of where I was two years ago! Two years ago in August I was 275, miserable and unhappy in my skin. Last August I was still fighting to reach my goal. This year I am happily living at my goal!

Weigh day! Stats!

Whew!! I made it through June! This was a hard month for me! I was an emotional wreck the better part of the month. I didn't want the month to become a total bust so I worked for redemption!

Two weeks ago I stepped on the scale in the midst of my sugar binge and the bitch read 172!!! Okay so I know I killed a half gallon of cookie dough ice cream from Friday evening to Sunday evening one weekend, I know I was half assed working out, oh and I also know I was eating real dirty but dayum!!

Weight 7/1/11, 165.4

Stats look like this...

Bust: 34
Waist: 29
Hips: 40.5
Thighs: (R) 23, (L) 23

Total weight lost in June: Zero! I actually gained 3.2 pounds...smdh

Total inches lost: Zero! I put inches on as well! I'm going to directly relate the inches to the muscle I feel all over! Shit I have to blame it on something!

July body shot #1

July body shot #2

My belly could look worse considering my binge! I have had great workouts since last Saturday though and I know it helped.

*Like my earrings??!! Aren't they cute?!! These are a pair of my designs! You'll see me wearing my designs from now on :-)*

Last month I wanted to bid farewell to the 160's, and that didn't happen! I also wanted to plan my menus one week out, that didn't happen either! One thing I did do is start lifting heavier weights! OMG I can feel the difference! I've been sore the last week and a half! Oh I also stuck with my split varied routine.

Goals for this month:

* Say adios to the 160's...again!
* Lift even heavier
* Menu planning 1 week out
* Continue varied split training
*blog/vlog at least twice a week

Weigh day! Stats! Mommy's birthday!

I have to start this post by first giving my mom a happy birthday shout out! Without her, there is no me. She is a huge part of why I am the woman that I am today! Love and miss you mom!

My mom :-)

Okay back to my weigh day and stats! I had to bury my old scale (may she RIP) a few days ago *sigh*...we had a good run together! So on Monday the girl's and I made a run to Target to pick up a new scale! I must admit I am smitten with her lol!!

Weight 6/1/11, 162.2

Stats look like this...

Bust: 33.5
Waist: 28.5
Hips: 39.5
Thighs: (R) 22.75, (L) 23

Total weight lost in May: 0.8 lbs

Total inches lost: 1.25 in

June body shot

I am finally starting to notice the progress in my abs!! Finally!!! I believe having two c-sections is playing a role in the slow journey back to flat abs...smdh!

I set a goal last month to complete four weeks of Jillian Michaels' Ripped in 30, this did not happen! I have yet to even complete weeks 3 & 4 workouts! Throughout my journey I've learned a few things about my body.

My body responds well to constant confusion. Meaning, the intensity and style of my workouts have to vary from week to week for me to see and feel a difference.

I've already noticed change with my current schedule 3 days on, 1 day rest cardio/strength split. Basically I'm doing three days of cardio, and three days of strength training on alternate days. I'm not planning my workouts more than one week out at a time.

Goals for this month:

* Continue my split routine with various workouts
* Start lifting heavier weights
* Bid farewell to the 160's
* Menu planning 1 week out...seriously I've been sloughing on this and I have NO excuses

Thank you all for continuing to follow and support my journey!

First weekly check in of 2011!

I couldn't possibly show my (in badly need of a pedicure) feet on the scale so I snapped the picture after I stepped off! After hovering around 173 the last three weeks, I'm back on the losing train! My life is going back to some type of normalcy which is great.

My first full week on the Points Plus plan was a success, I lost 3 pounds! I must admit, I like the changes in the new plan. I love being able to use my activity points before dipping into my weekly allowance. Last week I racked up 49 activity points! I LOVE that you receive way more points for activity as well.
My workout schedule was this:

Mon- Rest
Tues- (AM) Turbo Fire 45 min, (PM) Spinning 60 min
Wed- Rest
Thu- Spinning 60 min, Core 20 min
Fri- Turbo Fire 55 min
Sat- Spinning 45 min

Kicking and screaming I'm trying to take my workouts down to five days a week from six. I no longer have to kill myself to get the results I desire. I noticed that my body was having minor aches & pains continuously in certain spots, I can't have that happening!

I know the only thing that kept me from gaining weight last week was my workouts, I ate all types of snacks and treats smdh! I did figure what I ate into my points values for the day but it was still more than I should have consumed.

This week I'm trying to get in five workouts, I'm heading to Houston on Thursday to get a few things prepped for my move then spending the weekend in Louisiana with my honey! I'm so excited, I need a little break :-)

The weekly check in 12/13/10

Woot!!! Woot!!! Adios 170's!!! Scale reads 169.4 this morning!! I should reach my goal by Christmas!! This is the best Christmas gift I can give to myself. Who knew eating more food would yield a 4.2 pound loss this week? CRAZY!! I'm still processing this!

I have another tough workout schedule this week. I still feel great so getting through it shouldn't be a problem. The schedule looks like this:

Monday- Turbo Fire HIIT 20, weights circuit training 30 min
Tuesday- Turbo Fire 45 & stretch 10, spinning 60 min
Wednesday- REST
Thursday- Turbo Fire HIIT 25, weights circuit training 30 min
Friday- Turbo Fire 55 EZ
Saturday- HIIT 20, full body weights, spinning 60 min, Abs
Sunday- Turbo Fire 30 & stretch 10

I'm not going to touch on food too much because I didn't keep exact track of my intake. My nephew's 1st birthday party was this last weekend and there were lots of goodies! I enjoyed myself and put it in the back of my mind. Food does not consume my world anymore. I am in control of my results and outcomes.

The weekly check in 12/6/10

I'm at the same weight from last week this morning. I am happy with that. I realized with the old points system on WW I'm not eating nearly enough calories as I should be. Even with adding my activity points I was only eating about 1300 calories a day. With my level of activity, I should be eating somewhere between 1600-1800 calories per day! I was WAY off!

Initially I had to create a major deficit with diet and exercise to lose. Now I have to eat more to lose! I keep learning that there is no exact science and adjustments must be made constantly.

Here's a look at this weeks workouts:

Monday- Turbo Fire HIIT 15, No More Trouble Zones
Tuesday- Turbo Fire Fire 45, stretch 10
Wednesday- REST
Thursday- Turbo Fire HIIT 15, No More Trouble Zones, Spinning 60 min
Friday- Turbo Fire Fire 55 EZ
Saturday- Turbo Fire HIIT 20, Spinning 60 min, full body weights split
Sunday- Turbo Fire Fire 30, stretch 10

I'm up for another great week and giving my body a little bit of rest. I believe I was overtraining for a period of time, stalling my progress. I'm determined to lose this last 8 pounds!!

The weekly check in 11/29/10

This week I am up 1 pound from last week, scale reads 173.6. This is totally fine with me. I wasn't able to get in all of my workouts due to the YMCA being closed from snow. I still feel like I had a very successful week. I am still battling a cold and my workouts were noticeably more difficult than usual.

I was able to get in a great sweat session before I went to spend time with my family on Thankgiving. As planned, I did not overindulge. A little bit of this...a little bit of that...and I was satisfied!

After leaving my cousin's 30th birthday party and a few cocktails later, I was starving! I heard a Sourdough Jack @ Jack in the Box calling my name at 2 am Sunday morning lol! I havent made a late night pit stop for fast food in well over a year! To be honest it felt good to enjoy my burger and lay down tipsy lol! An indulgence like this every once in awhile is a luxury I've afforded myself from all of my hard work.

This for me was another great week!

The weekly check in 11/22/10

I'm checking in today because yesterday I wasn't feeling well. I didn't complete my morning workout and walked out the front door to the beginning of snow fall. My plan was to get my workout done when I made it home, no such luck!! It took me three hours to get home (due to Seattle's first winter storm) and it normally takes me twenty minutes to get home!

To make matters worse, I live on a steep hill and my car cannot make it up the hill. So I parked at the grocery store at the bottom of the hill and walked the rest of the way home. Needless to say when I finally made it inside I was too cold and too agitated to do anything but eat dinner and go to bed!

Anyhoo, I stepped on the scale this morning and I'm at 172.6! This is down 1.2 pounds from last Monday. I'm glad the scale is still moving down! I just might make it to 170 by next Monday! I wasn't able to complete all of the workouts I schuled but I still worked out 6 days last week at least once a day. Food was on point again as well. I did eat out at one of my favorite restaurants (Joey's) on Sunday.

Even with Thanksgiving being this week my determination to lose weight will not rest. I will not partake in the gluttony that is "Thanksgiving." I don't let holidays derail all of my hard work. I've worked too damn hard to let myself just fall completely off the wagon. I enjoy what I like in total moderation. This way I don't feel deprived. I also don't bring home leftovers. Tempation is a bitch when you know you LOVE baked mac n cheese and you have an entire plate of it in the fridge lol!

With all of that said I had another great week! I'm planning for this week to be even better in spite of the nasty weather surrounding Seattle! I'm pissed that I'm missing my beloved Spin class tonight but I'll get over it :-)

The weekly check in 11/15/10

It’s time once again for my weekly weigh in!! As of yesterday I am down 2.4 pounds from last Monday putting me at 173.8! My workouts have been crazy tough but well worth it, the payoff is soooooo sweeeet! As far as food goes, I did fairly well and stayed within my points most days. I normally have 3-7 activity points available everyday except Wednesday (rest day) so that makes things easier. I know for a fact my flex points were taken up by the pesky Halloween candy that is still lingering around my house! I took the liberty of locking up the remainder of it in the trunk of my car! I have to do what I have to do, my kids don’t need all of that candy but I do give them (and myself) treats!

I am attempting to add more pictures of myself and my day-to-day comings and goings on my posts. At some point I’ll create a video about my journey. I enjoy viewing and reading about others on the same path to wellness. This blog is about continuing to step outside of my comfort zone. I am creating an entirely new comfort zone for myself and it feels good!

The weekly check in 11/8/10

Yesterday I did my weekly wiegh in and I was at 176.2. I am having the hardest time keeping the scale on the other side of 175! I know from excessively weighing myself that each day the scale will show a different number based on what you’ve consumed. I don’t recommend weighing yourself daily if you are just starting out, but for me it helps me to stay focused and work harder. When you are starting a weight loss journey, the ups and downs of the scale is enough to drive you crazy!

Last week went well, except for the Halloween candy I just couldn’t stop myself from snacking on…PMS sends me on these binges! I recognize the patterns and I don’t let myself get carried away. I don’t always want to write down the candy I eat so I just enjoy it in that moment and move on. I can justify my candy breakdown by the amount and intensity of my workouts. I worked my body hard last week, the soreness in my legs from weight training last Thursday had me doing a duck walk for two days straight! I guess that just goes to show that I haven’t given my legs a good strength workout in a long time, it’s been forever since I’ve felt that much soreness. I’ve read about overtraining and I don’t want to fall into that trap but I’m really loving the new shape of my body.

Each week is a new challenge for me. There is something to be said about living a day-to-day life, losing wieght and changing your lifestyle. In order to be successful at it, you still have to live your life and overcome challenges as they arise. This is one of the reasons why I dislike “The Biggest Loser” but that’s for another post! I think it gives people an unrealistic view of normal, healthy weight loss. Like I said, this is for another post lol!
