Weigh day..FRESH new look!

October??? Is that you??? Well I'll be damned! It's that time of the month, weigh day!

*I did actually weigh myself on the first*

10/1/11..weight 166.2

Again I wish could say I had a great September but that would be a lie and I'm a terrible liar! In my last post I mentioned my lack of motivation was due to needing a change in my workout routine.

I went to the YMCA twice last week for spinning. Without a doubt it's the change that I needed! This week I plan to spin two times, try a new cardio class and lift weights two times.

I've got a fresh new look! I cut my hair...finally!! I'm not going to bore you with progress pics this month, there hasn't been much change in my body since last month. I'm thinking about only posting progress pics quarterly now? Just a thought?

I can barely contain the excitement I have for an upcoming event next month!!! Details soon to follow :-)!

Plans for October are to schedule my weekly workouts and menus. Nothing more..nothing less!

Let's all work towards a healthy upcoming holiday season!

The unintentional mini blog break!

I unintentionally ended up taking a mini break from blogging. I felt as though I didn't have much to write about. I haven't been working out, eating right or focusing on my journey. Why? I've had SO many family events going on and I need to restructure and refocus. Since I'm opting not to live my life obsessed with the scale anymore my attitude is changing.

I should be enjoying myself with balance. That is hard to do! My weight is no longer my primary focus, how I look and feel is! I want to live healthily and happily! This summer has been a true test of my strengths and weaknesses.

My mom, brother, nephew and baby sis were here last week for our family reunion. Oh how I'd missed them! We had such a great time and the girls were loving every single spoiled moment they got!

On Saturday I attended the 50th surprise (all white) birthday party for my cousin Nikki. Again, my family loves to party and this was no different! Here's a few pics of me before leaving the house.

This wasn't the white dress I wanted I took too long to order it but it was a $7 STEAL at Marshall's..I couldn't pass that up! I was concerned about looking preggers due to my lack of exercise but I like how the dress ended up working out. I'm not quite sure what it is with me and these one shoulder dresses!?

I'm all over the place right now! School is back in, I'm ready for my house hold to have structure again! Summer has been relaxed and lazy.

That's it for now, I've got ish to do!

Mi- Inspire Healthy Lifestyle Transformation Guides

I've finally completed another project I've been working on! Encouraged by the countless emails, comments and questions I've received since reaching my goal weight, I've written the first Mi-Inspire guide!

Everyday I receive an email asking what I did to lose weight? What do I eat, what my workouts are, how do I stay motivated..etc? Now 99% of these questions are answered throughout my blog BUT I understand some folks need a direct tangible reference.

As you can imagine I've answered the same questions many times! Unfortunately I don't have time to answer questions in depth from each person that asks me, I do have a job, kids and a man lol! I figured it would be smart to put everything in one place.

The first guide is all about what I did to start my healthy lifestyle transformation and how I stay consistent. In the second guide I will address food and of course the third will be about my workouts.

I'm sure there will be more eventually but for right now that's all I've got! The first guide is available for purchase here on my blog...YAY! If you've got $5 to spare please check it out! If you want to start changing your habits and don't know where to begin then this guide is for you! If you lack motivation it's for you as well! Or maybe you haven't read each of my previous posts and want to know how I'm keeping off the 110 pounds that I've lost? It's in this guide!

Feedback is greatly appreciated from everyone that does purchase the guide! It will help me build, grow and learn! Thank you all so very much for supporting me constantly!!

Road to #140..stacked, sexy, lean muscle!

I've been quiet this week, reading blog posts with limited comments. I'm still getting my *e-hugs* and love from y'all which is helping me tremendously!

Have you ever wanted something SO bad but just didn't know how to get it? That's where I'm at with my relationship. This question can also directly relate to weight loss. Truth be told the frustration of my relationship is fucking me up right now.

I'm all thrown off. Eating like crap, skipping workouts, drinking...you name it...I've been doing it! This is hard, emotionally I am drained. I'm not a quitter, I can't let what's going on keep me from moving forward towards my goals.

I need to focus on something I have complete control over, which brings me to the topic of this post. I've decided to set a brand new goal for myself that I intend to take seriously.

The NEW goal is to shape a figure competitor's body..minus the competing (for now). For this to become a reality many things I am doing as of now must change.

I've written a detailed list of goals and rewards which I will share a little later. For now I'm mentally preparing myself for this next phase of my lifestyle transformation. I've gotten comfy, change cannot happen unless I push myself to my limit and beyond!

I want a body of envy, I don't give a shit about anyone else's opinion! Follow me on my road to #140..stacked, sexy, lean muscle!

So what's next?

First and foremost I have to give a BIG thank you and virtual hugs to everyone that voted for me in the Beachbody Million Dollar Body Game!! Winners of this round will be announced on April 29th!

I'm excited about the outcome, I've worked SO hard at changing my body. I've also heard from a ton of people in the past week telling me that I am inspiring them to get moving! I'm humbled by it all, a bit overwhelming for me. Sharing my weight loss journey is leading me down a path I never could have dreamed for myself.

When people were telling me a year ago that I should start motivational speaking, I laughed! Who me?? Miesha Roshawn?? Nope! I'm SO quiet and reserved, when I was younger my mother called it "sneaky!"

Seriously though I've got so many things to consider. Sky is the limit as far as I'm concerned!

I see beauty in many things...

The ceiling at the Houston Children's Museum

There is a beautiful meaning and purpose behind my story. I now know what that is!

Points Plus...WW online

I signed up for the WW Points Plus program online this morning! Several people have asked me, "Why are you going back to WW?"

The simple answer is, I like structure as well as balance and the WW program allows me to track my food and activities without rigid restrictions. I am far enough along in my weight loss where I don't need to "cold turkey" cut things out anymore.

The other question is "Why are you trying to lose more weight, you look great where you are?"

My answer for this is, my weight loss and where I'd like to eventually be is a personal preference. I am grateful for all of the wonderful compliments I receive but it's about more than that for me. My health is my top priority. How I FEEL is what I care about.

I'm not going to tell you a lie, I love shopping for clothes now and all of the attention I receive because of my weight loss. For a number of years I wasn't turning heads, that fucked with my ego! Especially when I did before I gained the weight. If I was doing this for attention I would have failed a long time ago.

I'm not going to spend tons of time talking about the program, I do plan on discussing my opinions and results at least once a week. I don't have the time to carry on about each detail of the plan. I'm still a work in progress!

Miesha's 2011 goals/plans detailed

To keep in line with the year ending and having the ability to return to this post next year for reference, I'm listing my plans/goals for 2011! I'm not one for resolutions because I'm about actions. The actions and steps I take to reach my goals will in turn make them a reality.

1. Rejoin Weight Watcher's online and embrace the new Points Plus program

After much thought (little enthusiasm) and consideration, I'm going to jump back on the "WW" bandwagon! I've searched through blogs looking for folks that are on the new program and have seen nothing less than great remarks. The old points system worked for me but I began to hit a wall with my weight loss. My food consumption wasn't coming close to the amount of activity I was putting in each week. Eat more to LOSE...I love that concept!

With the new Points Plus program, there is an obvious allowance for a higher calorie consumption. The catch is you are allowed to eat more "healthy" options for a lesser points value than "unhealthy" options with the same caloric value. I can live with that! Although I don't plan to drop much smaller than I am right now, I'm giving the new program a three month trial. If I like it, I'll incorporate the core values into my daily life. If I don't like it...uuummm well...I'll just keep using my workouts to burn!

2. Make my relocation to Houston as smooth as possible

I am aware of the fact that some of this will play out by chance. I am also aware that I've got to put forth a ton of effort to make things happen. I am starting from scratch. I need a job, place, new car...I'm praying that God will align these things for me along with my effort to obtain them.

This is a move I've wanted to make for a very long time. Unfortunately fear kept me paralyzed and unable to act upon my dream. Now that I've got this "go get em" attitude, I'm not letting my fears of the unknown keep me from making my dream a reality.

3. Become a runner

Miesha a runner?? Seriously??? I'm making it a point to take up running! This is another thing on my list of "things to do before I die." Let me be very clear when I say I've NEVER liked running, even since childhood. I've never considered myself the running type.

Now that my entire outlook on my life has changed over the last year, I'm going to give it a try! I might fall in love with it (like I did Spinning) or I might hate it..nevertheless I'm going to try! Wish me luck, I'm going to need it!

4. Reach my goal weight range

My ideal weight has changed again! I came super close to hitting 167 this year...I got to 169.4. This is nothing to frown about, I'm happy with my progress. No excuses from me I've been hovering around 173 for the last couple weeks. Extra snacking and skipping workouts is the main culprit. Moving out of my place has my life in total chaos! My Virgo tendencies are clashing with this. My life thrives on structure & balance.

My new ideal weight range is 155-160. I'm not listening to anyone else's opinion about where I should be, I know where I want to be and that's all that matters!

5. Creating art

My weight loss efforts have effectively allowed me to disregard one of my greatest passions. I just didn't have the energy and focus needed to create. I vow to change that in 2011! First project will be a baby gift for my cousin Brandy. She asked me to make something for her soon to arrive baby girl Chloe. Brandy knows me well and she knew to ask me early before I could rattle off any reasons not to!

I am into mixed media art and I'd like to start designing art deco handbags. I've got a sketch book waiting to be filled with all of the ideas floating around in my head! I've got to make this happen!

6. Improve my blogging skills

I have much respect for those folks that have the time to dedicate attention and thought to all of their blogs. I'm working myself up to that point...smdh! I'm finding myself spending more time reading and writing blogs than I spend on Facebook! Say it ain't so!! Blogging has become part of my therapy. I'm grateful to all of you that are interested in what I have to say.

I believe I mentioned in a recent post that my blog will become more than just my weight loss journey. I've already started that process but plan to expand even more in the upcoming year.

7. Take more pictures

I absolutely cannot justify purchasing a digital SLR camera until I start using the two camera's I already own. My point & shoot camera goes everywhere with me and has a damn near empty media card...this is a problem! I also have a mid-level camera with all the bells and whistles that I rarely take out of the house, this is a problem as well! I go on vacation and neglect to take pictures...FAIL!

I bought my girls digital camera's for Christmas this year and they won't put them down! I've got to follow their lead!

8. Obtain my personal training and nutrition certifications respectively

This is something that quite possibly could run into 2012 but I will be getting the ball rolling in 2011. I've got a lot to learn. I know what works for me but helping others succeed needs refinement. I'd like to be able to call myself a healthy lifestyle "expert" soon in place of
"enthusiast." I've received some great advice from others about becoming certified so I'm armed with knowledge.

I plan to make friends with the gym and start asking questions of trainers. Oh yeah and in my spare time I'd like to become certified to teach Turbo Kick classes and Spinning!

9. Enjoying my time with my loved ones

Now more than ever with my impending move soon, I recognize the importance of my relationships with my loved ones. My girls will remain the center of my world and with God's help I will continue to have the ability to care and provide for them in the way that I do.

There is no doubt that I am blessed to have the people that I do in my life. I am loved! Not only am I loved by others, I am in love with myself. Because of this I am able to return love now without regrets and hesitation. I owe a lot of this to my honey. Everyday I am thankful for him.

10. Reconnect with my spiritual path

I've never been one for sitting in church each Sunday. I know myself well enough to know that my life is missing a specific guidance though. I had already decided that once I get to Houston I will be finding a church home. Not only do I need this guidance, my girls need it as well. I can only give them so much as a foundation. My life has been craving this for sometime so I will no longer ignore that voice.

Whew!!! This has to be the longest post I've ever written! I wanted to make sure I put careful thought into each goal/plan. We speak things into existence. Happy New Year!

Thirty Days of ME...Day 18

Day Eighteen- Plans/dreams/goals you have
Having goals, a plan to make them a reality and dreaming makes up a huge part of who I am. As I wrote in a previous post, my issue at times is completion of my goal. For the last year and a half (almost) my goal has been weight loss related. I've been eating, sleeping and breathing weight loss!

A few of my short term goals (within two years) are;

Relocating to Houston
Finding a nice job with great benefits once I get there
Obtaining my ACE personal training certification
Obtaining my Spinning & Turbo Kick certifications respectively
Marriage to the love of my life and possibly one more baby :-)
Purchasing a home

A dream of mine is to become an entrepreneur doing something that I am passionate about. At this time I don't know if it will be health & fitness related or somehow related to my art? This is something that I've always wanted to do and I will make it happen!
