Weigh Day 8/6/12

Let's get right down to business! I am up .6 lbs from last Monday. No complaints, my eating was off (calorie busting) over the weekend I'll talk about that in another post.

I still didn't buy a measuring tape, when I went to Joann's AND Michaels I forgot both times lol! But I did have the girls snap my pics after my Saturday workout. I had to have them do it while I was thinking about it...please excuse the hot sweaty mess!

I'm not feeling the mini muffin at all, I'm working on it! Last weeks workouts were Turbo Fire and Jillian Michaels' Ripped In 30. Five workout sessions, here's my last weeks totals:

I've got 5 workout sessions scheduled for this week, plus another potential calorie busting weekend with my family reunion (sigh). I'll get my workouts done, guaranteed!

Today is the first day of the rest of your life!

Ripped in 30 review week 2

Let me start off by saying that week 2 was a complete FAIL! I cannot do an accurate review because I only completed 1 workout! Did you here me??? Only 1 week 2 workout! That was done on Thursday.

In my defense like I really need a defense I was nursing my hurt shoulder. And guess what?? My shoulder feels better! Hells yeah!!!

On Saturday I did Turbo Fire 55 EZ. So last week I only logged 2 workouts. I also had a couple of days where my eating was down right redamdiculous! Let's just say it involved a slice of turtle cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory!

This isn't my photo BUT it looked just like this minus the whipped cream! Ah-ma-ZING!!

Okay sorry, I get excited when cheesecake is involved!! Back to the topic at hand!

Since I'm not doing a full review on the week 2 workout, I'm not posting a body pic..sigh *_*! I will say this, my body hurt all over again after last Thursday's attempt! Shit was difficult! Damn and I thought I was in pretty good shape!

I am now convinced that I'm still not exactly where I want to be. I need WERQ...still! Even with the enormous weight loss, and how great I feel, I need and want more! I'ma this isn't a word but I don't care still get me (my honey says that all of the time)!

So this week will be the REDO! I'm on it y'all!

Ripped in 30 review week 1

I successfully completed all six days of workout 1! Days 2-3 my body hurt! I was so damn sore! I took a much needed rest day on Wednesday, so on day 4 I felt rested and the workout was nice!

On Friday, day 5 for some reason I felt weak during the strength combos and ab moves? Not sure why but I struggled through a few of those exercises! Then on Saturday I completed the entire workout without modifications. I then followed up with Turbo Fire 45 class. Needless to say after that I was pooped!!

Here's a progress pic, not sure if there's a difference yet but I'm still working!

Upcoming week- I somehow hurt my right shoulder :-(! It's been bothering me for a few weeks but after pushing through this week I think I made it worse.

I took yesterday as a rest day although I was going to start week 2. I am trying to avoid making it worse so the plan is to do four days of the week 2 workout this week along with two Turbo Fire workouts.

This is a minor setback but I've dealt with worse! I'll be posting another workout update next Monday!

Ripped in 30!!

My Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 DVD arrived yesterday! On Sunday May 1st for 30 days, 6 days a week this will be my program!! I am a HUGE fan of Jillian's workouts! Her personality..not so much of a fan.. but she knows the right combinations to use to effectively change the shape of your physique.

I will continue using my Turbo Fire workouts for additional cardio 3-4 days a week. Also I am taking on clean eating! I do fairly well with food but I still occasionally slip up with my sugar cravings!

I am determined to remove more jiggle and replace it with sexy muscle!

Play time is over (my mom always says that...lmao) summer is right around the corner! I'll be posting my week in review on Sunday's, sharing my thoughts on the workouts and how I think my body is responding to the clean eating.

I'm debating whether or not I should post progress pics each week?

Anyhoo, I've been saying I need to get back to menu planning so that's happening as well! Watch me WERQ!!! LOL!

Million Dollar Body Game!

Being the Turbo Fire junkie that I am, I entered the Beachbody Million Dollar Body Game! For those of you that aren't familiar, Beachbody awards large cash prizes for body transformations to people who have used their workout systems to lose weight.

I almost missed the deadline to submit my entry (I just so happened to see the link to enter on a Facebook update) but I got everything uploaded in time! I received an email stating my entry has been approved!

Wish me luck y'all in my new southern slang! Apparently a panel of judges will decide whether or not my submission will be up for the public vote! Here's the link if you'd like to read about the contest..http://apps.facebook.com/promotionshq/contests/106120

Friday!!!!

It's going to be a great day! I'm already claiming it! My mom sent the family pictures that we took before I left. The picture below is of my siblings and I.

Marquita, Miesha, Marcus and Chaz

The picture is a scan I took with my phone so the quality isn't that great but you get the idea lol! We argue and fuss but I wouldn't trade them for the world! No matter what, we always have each other's back.

Anyhoo, I'm SO looking forward to the weekend! I don't have any plans but I did join a social group that has a couple of activities planned and I just might go! My honey keeps telling me I need to get out and meet people...I'm trying! When you leave friends that you've had since childhood it's hard to jump out there because most people are just as cautious as I am. Like I said, I'm making the effort!

This morning I got up and went hard with my Turbo Fire disk 45 EZ. I feel amazing!! I worked out yesterday morning and I was in a good mood all day. I swear it's what I've been missing! The break is officially over!

I'll be checking out the reviews on Jillian Michaels' latest DVD. I pretty much LOVE all of her stuff so I'm hoping for great reviews! It's time to take my body to the next level and honestly I don't like going to the gym, at home works best for me. I lost 100 pounds working out at home, maybe I'll order P90X and sculpt off the next 20???

My mind is racing with the possibilities! Everyone have a fabulous Friday!

WTF??

I woke up this morning with every intention to get a Turbo Fire workout in, it didn't happen! All of my belongings still haven't been shipped yet (including my DVD player) so I've been using my laptop to play videos. Yes, I should probably stop being cheap and go buy another DVD player but I haven't!

I've only worked out twice in a month! SMDH...luckily I've only gained three-five pounds (depending on the day) and not fifteen! I'm off the saddle but not out of the game!

When I put the disk in the drive it couldn't be read...so I tried another...still nothing?? WTF?!? I immediately thought if the two cute little culprits I call my daughters!

Please don't let these cute little faces fool you! They're always messing with my stuff!

I shut the computer down and when I turned it back on, it read the DVD! Okay yes, I'm probably a bit wrong for blaming my offspring but as a mother that's part of the job description! Unfortunately it was too late to workout by the time it started working.

So I'll be up in the morning getting a much needed sweat session in!

First weekly check in of 2011!

I couldn't possibly show my (in badly need of a pedicure) feet on the scale so I snapped the picture after I stepped off! After hovering around 173 the last three weeks, I'm back on the losing train! My life is going back to some type of normalcy which is great.

My first full week on the Points Plus plan was a success, I lost 3 pounds! I must admit, I like the changes in the new plan. I love being able to use my activity points before dipping into my weekly allowance. Last week I racked up 49 activity points! I LOVE that you receive way more points for activity as well.
My workout schedule was this:

Mon- Rest
Tues- (AM) Turbo Fire 45 min, (PM) Spinning 60 min
Wed- Rest
Thu- Spinning 60 min, Core 20 min
Fri- Turbo Fire 55 min
Sat- Spinning 45 min

Kicking and screaming I'm trying to take my workouts down to five days a week from six. I no longer have to kill myself to get the results I desire. I noticed that my body was having minor aches & pains continuously in certain spots, I can't have that happening!

I know the only thing that kept me from gaining weight last week was my workouts, I ate all types of snacks and treats smdh! I did figure what I ate into my points values for the day but it was still more than I should have consumed.

This week I'm trying to get in five workouts, I'm heading to Houston on Thursday to get a few things prepped for my move then spending the weekend in Louisiana with my honey! I'm so excited, I need a little break :-)

Yesterday was a great day!

Yesterday was a GREAT day for my food intake and workouts! As of yesterday I decided to go back to tracking points with Weight Watchers. I have bounced back and forth with this on numeral occasions but finally realize that this is the most effective system for me for food tracking. My daily alloted points number is 23. I had an additional 8 activity points from my two workouts. I only ended up using 3 points from my activity allotment so I had a net 5 points left over for the day. I also drank my goal 96 ounces of water.

I had a split workout and completed Turbo Fire 45 in the morning and 40 minutes of Ultimate Tae Bo in the evening. I haven’t done my Ultimate Tae Bo DVD since May or June…I think?? It’s been so long I really don’t remember! My metabolism must have been running out of control while I was asleep because when I woke up this morning I was sweating like crazy! This is a very good thing in my book and it put a smile on my face! My workouts for today will be:

Turbo Fire HIIT 20 (AM)

Zumba Abs (AM)

Upper body strength training (PM)

Spinning 60 minutes (PM)

I live for Wednesday’s lol! This is the only rest day I take and tomorrow I’m thinking about doing Turbo Fire 40 minute Stretch routine and taking a long hot bath!

Today's workout 10/21/10

I woke up this morning at 4 am to get the first part of my workout completed. I do not drink coffee, nor do I really need an alarm to wake me up! My body has become accustomed to this routine and even on the weekends there is no such thing as sleeping in for me! If I’m in the bed at 7 am on Saturday or Sunday that’s what I call sleeping in…SMDH! Today’s workout looks something like this….

Turbo Fire – HIIT 15

30 Day Shred – Level #1

Spinning – 60 minute class

Zumba Abs

Yes..this is a crazy schedule and no..I don’t do this everyday! Wednesday’s are typically the one day a week that I take off so Tuesday and Thursday I go HARD! My methods work for ME so I will not be changing how I roll…holla!

Turbo Fire 12 week results!

I did it! I completed my first round of Turbo Fire! The program is 12 weeks long. I should have finished two weeks ago but had to redo weeks 7 & 8 due to illness and injury respectively. I loved every single second of it! Hands down this is my absolute favorite workout! I can't get enough of the fast up and down pace! Once I learned all of the choreography the workouts got better and better for me.
I created a photo collage of my progress. Row one is day 1, row 2 is day 60 and row 3 is day 90.
Stats:
Weight- 197.0 to 179.8 = 17.2 (loss)
Bust- 38" t0 36" = -2"
Chest- 34" to 32.5" = -1.5"
Waist- 32" to 30.5" = -1.5"
Arms- (R) 13.25" to 12.5" = -0.75" (L) 13.25" to 12" = -1.25"
Hips- 45" to 41.5" = -3.5"
Thighs- (R) 25.5" to 23.75" = -1.75" (L) 26" to 23.75" = -2.25"
Calves- (R) 16" to 15" = -1" (L) 16.5" to 15" = -1.5"
Total overall inches lost = 17!!!
Ironically my total inches and weight lost is almost exactly the same! I had a goal when I started the program to lose 25 pounds, I missed my target by 7.8 pounds which isn't too bad. I will definitely complete another round as a hybrid with P90X. I like the strength training in P90X and the cardio in Turbo Fire. As a combined routine, this should give me the results that I am looking for.
I am recommending Turbo Fire to anyone that is looking to take their workouts to the next level at home! You WILL NOT be disappointed!
