How I'm living!

This workout is EVERYTHING!!

I love me some Jeanette Jenkins!! I already own a few of her DVDs so I'm pretty familiar with her workout style. I bought this the same week that it was released but Sunday was my first real/serious attempt at doing the workout.

Baaaabbbyyyy when I tell you I cursed this chick...I'm not playing!! She starts out at a fairly moderate pace then just keeps hammering you until you start to cuss!!

Start to finish it's an hour and a half worth of work. I completed an hour and 15 minutes which isn't too bad right?? My calorie burn according to my Polar HRM was 865!!! Yup!! No complaints here!!

By the time I reached the Ring The Bell Mat Work section which is second to last before cool down I was tired! I made it through the second abs exercise and said "F" it I'm out lol!!

All in all I'm going to grade this workout an "A"

Mainly because it's two days later and I'm still struggling to sit down without using my hands to soften the impact 0_o. My ass isn't the only body part hurting...everything hurts so therefore that lets me know I got a kick ass full body workout!!

Because I like the sequence of the entire workout (you can pick and choose the sections you want to do if short on time) I plan to do it once or twice per week.

If you were contemplating trying it...JUST DO IT!!

The journey...good news and bad

Good news first! I'm being considered for People magazine Half Their Size issue! I'm not sure when I'll find out if my story will be in it but of course I'll share ASAP!

Bad news...

Moving right along with what I've been going through during my blog break, next subject is my journey. With moving and the stress of my relationship I have pretty much lost focus. Slowly I'm bringing things back in order but I'm having to wean myself from this terrible sugar and junk food habit that I've picked up!

Last week I did three Turbo Fire workouts but I also ate like shit SO I think that cancels out the workouts lmao! You name it, I've been eating it! Cookies, caramel sundaes from McDonalds, cake, chips...shit's been real! Guess what though??? I really didn't give a fuck about the weight gain (yes I've gained about 10) until last week.

Call me crazy but my life no longer revolves around my scale. But I don't like this jiggle and clearly it's because of junk food! Mentally I had to check out. Most people trying to lose weight don't understand the pressure of keeping it off. All you can see is getting rid of it...then what?

I've touched on this subject before and it is the reality of weight loss. People look to me for advice and inspiration but sometimes I want to eat/behave like the fat girl I used to be! Sometimes I could care less about working out, that's reality.

Then my other reality really sets in yes I have two realities I worked extremely hard to lose it, I like wearing a size 10 and my health has to be a top priority. That's the bottom line.

Unfortunately I didn't finish the Jamie Eason program. There are two reasons for that. 1) With moving I couldn't stay consistent with the schedule..too much to do and too many places to be! 2) The YMCA I belong to didn't have all of the machines and equipment needed to properly complete phases 2 & 3.

The first phase of the program was killer and I was seeing results so thumbs up on that!

So what's next?? I wanted to do another round of Turbo Fire but I'm bored with the music! I love the workouts but I need a new soundtrack. I'm suspending my Y membership for now so that I can put that extra money towards buying a house. Besides working out at home is my bread and butter! 100+ pounds lost at home, it works for me! Issue is I need new DVDs!

I ordered Jillian Michaels' Kickbox FastFix DVD yesterday...reviews to follow!

Have you heard Jillian Michaels has released a new 90 day at home workout called Body Revolution??? My friend just told me about it and I'm seriously considering purchasing it! I have mentioned on many occasions that I am a Jillian fan! Her workouts have given me great results in the past. Reading up on it it has a similar structure to the ever popular Beachbody workouts. Cost is about $135 with shipping & handling, payments can be split into 4! That's what I paid for Turbo Fire and in my opinion worth every single penny!

Anyone willing to purchase it and do it with me????

Until tomorrow loves :-)

Jackie Warner: Power Circuit Training DVD

I've had this DVD since it came out (over a year) but Sunday was the first time I really put forth the effort to complete the 40 min full body circuit. On previous attempts I gave up on it without giving it a serious try! Huge mistake on my part!

This workout is THE BOMB!! Straight weights & strength training...no cardio! Jackie Warner doesn't have the best on camera personality but her workout is no nonsense, ass kicking goodness!

I felt the effects of this workout the next day and I still felt it this morning when I got up to do it today! Sore all over! Surprisingly I see and feel my muscles more defined right now too!

Don't tell anybody but I am struggling with the upper and lower abs work! Have you ever experienced the tummy tuck?? That's that BULLSHIT!! I'm cursing her by the end but my body says thank you Jackie Warner!

Ripped in 30!!

My Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 DVD arrived yesterday! On Sunday May 1st for 30 days, 6 days a week this will be my program!! I am a HUGE fan of Jillian's workouts! Her personality..not so much of a fan.. but she knows the right combinations to use to effectively change the shape of your physique.

I will continue using my Turbo Fire workouts for additional cardio 3-4 days a week. Also I am taking on clean eating! I do fairly well with food but I still occasionally slip up with my sugar cravings!

I am determined to remove more jiggle and replace it with sexy muscle!

Play time is over (my mom always says that...lmao) summer is right around the corner! I'll be posting my week in review on Sunday's, sharing my thoughts on the workouts and how I think my body is responding to the clean eating.

I'm debating whether or not I should post progress pics each week?

Anyhoo, I've been saying I need to get back to menu planning so that's happening as well! Watch me WERQ!!! LOL!

October already???

Tomorrow is the 1st day of October!!! I’m thinking about my workouts for the next month. I have one more week to go in the Turbo Fire 12 week program but it’s time to change things up a bit before I gear myself up for Power 90x in November. I’m considering doing the 30 Day Shred (Jillian Michaels) along with Zumba (Betos), Turbo Fire (Chalene Johnson) and No More Trouble Zones (Jillian Michaels) for cardio. I haven’t done the full 30 Day Shred since February and I’m positive my physical fitness has improved a ton since then! I really struggled when I started doing the Shred in February but I did manage to lose about 10 pounds that month. I’ve lost a considerable amount of weight since then so I believe I should be able to achieve better results this time around. I’m also thinking about incorporating 4 days of resistance training each week instead of 3. I’ll see how I feel after the first week since the Shred is circuit training with weights. I’m not trying to over train my muscles.

I’ve mentioned this before but I can’t stress enough how important it is to confuse your body. At the start of each month I’m doing a different routine so that my body doesn’t become accustomed to the routine. The more confusion, the harder your body has to work to “get it.” By the time the body starts to adapt it’s time to switch it up again! That’s the beauty! I have been very successful with this method. Go ahead and try confusing your body at the start of each month!
