The weekend in pics :-)
We had a really good weekend! Lots of fun, too much food! I thought I'd highlight my weekend in pictures today instead of with words!

Friday night..added color to my hair!

Saturday morning I brought the girls to the U of H to participate in the marathon kids kick off event!

Custom shadowbox frame designed by me for my cousin..she LOVED it!

All of the pics above were taken by Julianni, except for the cake..she's learning how to take pics :-)
Sunday was lazy, I attended church via Steaming Faith (online). Once I woke up I knew I wouldn't make it to services on time, but I did receive the word!
Special announcement post coming a bit later! Happy Monday!!

Living & Loving Life!
The past couple of weeks has been good, I feel well rested and ready to tackle the rest of the year! Crazy that we are just about in the last quarter of 2011! Where exactly did the time go? Who knows, all I do know is that I've been living & loving life!
This past weekend a couple friends and I took our one and only trip this summer to Galveston beach. Naturally I'm still finding sand all over the place but we had a great time! Weather was perfect and the kids couldn't get enough of that dirty water :-)

Julianni 9/17/11

Enjoying some sand!

Mimi 9/17/11
After the nicelong day at the beach, we ate a "snack"...took showers and then headed out for a graduation party/fish fry.
Okay so we really didn't eat a "snack" and when we arrived at the fish fry I had absolutely NO BUSINESS eating again but hell...you only live once on this earth right?! The food was crazy good of course...this is TX and the strawberry daiquiri's were even better!

My friend and I on our way to the party
Basically this post is about how I'm choosing to enjoy my life! This has been a great year for me and I intend to finish it with a bang! Thanks for continuing to kick it with me on my lifestyle transformation!

Hot Mama & her little princesses!
For Mother's day I decided to buy a cute dress, curl my hair and put on makeup! We were headed to dinner at a cousin's house so I figured why not?

I'm no stranger to the dress up game but since I've been in Houston, I haven't gone out anywhere that calls for me to be fancy!

I stood outside for ten minutes maybe while Julianni snapped these pics and ended up with four damn bug bites!!

My dress was a $5 thrift store find! I love to go thrifting but I don't like bringing my girls. Someone always has to pee, or is sleepy, or is hungry...blah blah blah which in turn always leads to my trip being cut short! Saturday was no exception!

No seriously they really do love each other when they aren't fighting!
We had a wonderful day and I'm proud to call these little girls mine!

My girls!!!

Mimi...never understated...always exaggerated lmao!
Yes it looks like sidewalk chalk BUT it's not lol! She did this all by herself!

Julianni...the mild, sensitive type...a Virgo like her mommy!
For those of you that needed another good laugh...here you go!

Julianni's Mohawk!
My seven year old is really starting to step into her own style. She's conscious about her clothes and has always liked her stuff to match. Just the opposite of her little sister, she'll go out of the house with fifteen patterns and colors if I let her!
Well I asked them today which style they wanted me to braid their hair in? Mimi says a side ponytail..okay cool I can do that! Julianni says a Mohawk! Uuummm okay I've never braided a Mohawk but I gave it a try, this is how it turned out!

My sister told me I cheated, apparently the braids are supposed to be smaller and the middle section pressed and curled! No ma'am!! Their hair out in Houston is asking for trouble! She thinks she's fly...I think so too!

Julianni takes her first jump in the deep end!
My big girl took a leap in the deep end of the pool yesterday! It's hard to believe she was almost in tears five minutes prior because she was scared to jump in! Even with a life jacket on she insisted that she wasn't going to do it. With a bit of coaxing and a small jump from the side of the pool she went for it! I'm proud of her! At 7 she is getting a late start to swimming but I feel as though it's one of the best gifts I can give both of my girls. My baby girl got in the deep side of the pool (with her instructor's help) and I am proud of her as well. When they started lessons in September she was afraid to put her face in the water! This is one of the many reasons why I love being a MOM!
